Science

Last Wednesday, me and some other kids went to Otago boy’s high school. We were invited to do some science in the science lab, we met the teacher and he was funny and excited that we could come and do science with him we were excited too, he told us that we would be extracting D.N.A from a kiwifruit. He told us what to do, pick a buddy and choose what each buddy would do. My buddy was Josh, I heated up some water while Josh scooped out the kiwifruit and smashed it in a bag, next we put the bag in the water to break  down the kiwifruit and then we got a bottle and tipped in the kiwifruit liquid, we had to wait for about 10 minutes before we tipped it in a test tube and put in some alcohol. We weren't allowed to shake it and finally we used a squeezy tube to collect the  D.N.A. It was super awesome!
At the end we got to have an ice-block, mine was chocolate. I had a great time, I can’t wait to do it again next Wednesday!
